Now it’s a hot property nationwide.
And On The Verge is proud to present it for the first time in Kentucky.

Two well-to-do couples meet to resolve a playground dispute between their children
like civilized adults.   The meeting begins amiably enough, but tempers and tolerance fray, jackets are shed, rum replaces coffee, fault lines in marriages open up, alliances shift and all hell gradually breaks loose. By the end of the evening, one mother’s lofty claim that “there is such a thing as the art of coexistence” has come hilariously and intriguingly into question

But there’s a twist to this production. The play is double cast. And the combination of couples changes constantly. Lisa Thomas Paul Thomas, Allie Darden, Bob Singleton, Adam Luckey, Kim Dixon and Tiffiney Baker star.  Directed by Ave Lawyer

Adam Luckey (Emil), has worked extensively with such groups as Actors Guild of Lexington, KCT Summerfest, Studio Players, Apprentice Players, Paragon Music Theatre, Balagula Theatre, Shakespeare at Equus Run, Woodford Theatre, and the Lexington Children’s Theatre. He is thrilled to add On The Verge to this list.  Adam has led creative dramatics workshops statewide, is a proud member of International Museum Theatre Alliance and serves on the board of the Balagula Theatre Company.  As a Museum Theatre Specialist, he researches, writes and performs plays based on Kentucky history for the Kentucky Historical Society in Frankfort.
Robbie Morgan (Mac) is back in Lexington after several years in Toronto, Ontario.  She recently performed with the Balagula Theatre Company as Inez in Sartre’s No Exit, Mary the Maid in Ionesco’s The Bald Soprano and Woman #2 in Beckett’s Play (2nd Place “Best Performance” Southeastern Theatre Conference, 2010). She has performed in Toronto and Chicago and is excited to make her debut with On the Verge.
Samantha Doane-Bates (Virginia) is delighted to be on the boards with On the Verge having played Lavinia Hubbard in Another Part of the Forest. At the Woodford Theatre, Sam played Mrs. Savage in The Curious Savage, Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, and Eleanor of Aquitaine in The Lion in Winter. Lexington audiences have seen her as Maria Callas in Master Class, Emily Stilson in Wings, Du in Keely and Du at Actors’ Guild, as Queen Margaret in Richard III at the Lexington Shakespeare Festival, and as M’Lynn in Steel Magnoliasat Studio Players. Her past acting credits include everything from Broadway to film, television, Shakespeare and summer stock in both New York and Los Angeles. A practicing transpersonal clinical hypnotherapist specializing in past-life regression, Sam is also a  professional astrologer and author of The Light of Roses.

Ave Lawyer (Director), a founding member of On The Verge conceived and directed  The Hellman Project, the group’s maiden venture. Her directing credits include  Joe Egg, Proof, The House of Blue Leaves and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead for Studio Players,  Arcadia, The Story, Orphans, and Reckless for Actor’s Guild of Lexington, Moon Over Buffalofor Woodford Theatre, Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet and Measure for Measure for the Lexington Shakespeare Festival and, most recently, The Merchant of Venice for Summerfest.

Gretchen Shoot (Stage Manager) is managing her first production for On the Verge.  Graduating summa cum laude from the University of Kentucky with a B.A. in Theatre, she has stage managed productions for the Woodford Theatre, University of Kentucky, Paragon Music Theatre, Lexington Shakespeare Festival, Woodsongs, Agape Theatre Troupe, SummerFest, SCAPA and the 2010 Alltech World Equestrian Games.  Gretchen worked as a casting associate for the major motion pictures Seabiscuit and Dreamer and is actively pursuing a career in stage management with Cirque du Soleil.
